So the Car Story behind this 1973 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 is likely to leave you green with envy.
Because a rather fortunate Southern California man was gifted the sweet ride by his Dad. And it was on his 15th birthday no less!
Mike Williams didn’t mention his father’s Dad Of The Year Award for giving him such an awesome gift. But here are the details he did share for this iDriveSoCal Car Story.
Ontario Californian’s 1973 Chevrolet Camaro z28
When Mike Williams from Ontario, California bought his ’73 Z28 it had 5,000 miles on it.
In Mike’s Car Story submission he refers to this fine slice of American muscle as a ‘she’. And we think that makes perfect sense. Because she is certainly easy on the eyes. :0)
How Did You Come About Owning Your Car?
Perhaps the only downside of receiving such an awesome birthday present on your 15th birthday is having to wait a year before you can legally drive it on the roads.
However, that’s a downside we would gladly accept. As Mike did. Because he states that the car has been in his family since 1975. And, on his 15th birthday, his dad gave it to him!
So, Mike says, “she’s been a big part of our family life.”
Describe The Type Of Driving And Annual Mileage
With a car like this ’73 Chevy Camaro Z28 you might think it sees a fair amount of track time. But it sounds like this is more of a car that Mike likes to show and cruise around in.
And when asked about annual milage plus what type of driving Mike says it’s mostly local car shows, some races, plus cruising on the weekends. With the total mileage on an annual basis of around 1,000.
In What Ways Have You Modified Your ’73 Chevy Camaro Z28?
When it comes to the question of ; ‘what modifications have been done to the car,’ Mike responds jokingly. “What haven’t we modified?” he says!
“Starting with the paint and the body.” He reports synergy green is a GM color. “Plus the wide body kit is made by Baldwin Motion. Old School 350 geared driven by summer Brothers Edelbrock. Air gap manifold with Holley 750 double-pumper carburetor. Hooker Heads bolted up to a turbo 400 custom shift kit. First gear freewheel CPP tubular A-arms, Q1 coil-overs shocks. Procar Rally seats, 4-point chrome roll bar, and custom headliner.”
Top-3 Things And Favorite Activities
Mike’s Top-3 favorite things about his 1973 Z28 include the widebody kit. Plus the way it sounds different from other muscle cars. And, of course, ‘the way it pins you to the seat when you got the pedal to the medal!’
So, with all that in mind, it’s no surprise that his favorite activities with his ’73 Chevy muscle car are going to local car shows, hanging out with his car club, and cruising Pacific Coast Highway.
On The To-Do List And Most Memorable Moment
Saving up for an LS Twin Turbo and rear four-link by Detroit Speed are the next items planned for Mike’s Camaro.
And when it comes to his most memorable moment with his car… Mike’s answer makes total sense and has to make you grin a bit. Because he says, ‘going to high school knowing that I had one of the baddest Camaro’s around! And it’ didn’t hurt [having that car] with the ladies either!’
We totally agree and can only imagine Mike! Thanks for sharing!
