The 2022 Ford Expedition Reveal is here and it’s striking fear into the hearts of its competitors.
Introduced in 2017, the Expedition gains market share each year and this update will only help. Instead of a drab half-hearted mid-cycle refresh, the new Expedition is available in a new trim, it gets new styling, and has a new performance package.
In addition, Expedition is getting some new flagship-level technology for the first time. Dodge, Chevrolet, and Jeep better watch out. The 2022 Ford Expedition reveal is a tough SUV to battle against.

Timberline Edition Performance Package
Modern Muscular Style On The 2022 Ford Expedition
If the Expedition has lacked anything in terms of style it doesn’t anymore. Unveiled at the 2022 Ford Expedition reveal are new LED headlights that are considerably more aggressive than the 2021 model.
They’re complemented by updated LED taillights and all new wheels choices. And buyers who opt for the Expedition Platinum trim will also get a new twin-spar mesh grille with chrome accents and foglights. So, thanks to these subtle changes, the Expedition is more imposing on the road than ever before. It’s not just about exterior changes though.

Stealth Performance And Timberline Trim
Ford is attacking the competition with an all-new trim level called the Timberline. And it’s easy to spot with its F-150 Raptor skid plate prominently displayed upfront.
Because it features 10.6-inches of ground clearance which beats the Jeep Wagoneer. Despite using six-cylinders as opposed to the V8 under the hood of the Wagoneer, Expedition makes 46 more horsepower and 108 more pound-feet of torque while being 4% lighter. In fact, it’s the most powerful vehicle in its class.
That’s important too because other competitors like Chevrolet can’t keep up either. Plus, the Tahoe RST trim is nothing more than an appearance package which makes the Ford Stealth Performance package even more impressive.
Because it’s not just a bit more powerful than a base Expedition. No, it’s the most powerful Expedition in history. Making 440 horsepower which is 85 more horsepower than Chevy’s ‘hot’ Tahoe.

Flagship-Level Technology Shines In The 2022 Ford Expedition Reveal
A flagship SUV isn’t much without the tech to back it up and boy are we excited about what we saw at the 2022 Ford Expedition reveal.
BlueCruise, Ford’s hands-free driving assistance technology is available and unlike other systems that require interaction, it will do the driving for you so long as you’re paying attention to the road.
Also, Ford is offering the same 15.5-inch infotainment system found in the Mustang Mach-E. And it uses SYNC 4A which is one of the fastest and most intuitive systems on the market.
One more notable option is a 22-speaker (yes you read that right) Bang & Olufsen sound system. Having tested a similar system in the 2021 edition, we can tell you that it’s hard to believe how good it is until you hear it.
Ford has never rested on its laurels when it comes to the Expedition and it sure doesn’t seem like that’s going to change anytime soon.
