Overview
The Lexus LC lineup is the performance flagship of the entire brand. It’s faster, sleeker, and sexier than any other product Lexus offers. Two drivetrains include a mild-hybrid system with a V6 mated to a pair of electric motors and a pair of transmissions (you read that correctly) and a naturally aspirated V8 that makes 471 hp and sends its power to the rear wheels only through a ten-speed automatic.
New For 2022 Lexus LC
Lexus has left the 2022 LC largely unchanged from the 2021 model year. The only difference to the base model is updated suspension tuning that’s intended to improve steering feedback and handling limits. Lexus has also a Sport package with a glass roof and 21-inch wheels. Finally, Lexus customers can now select a new option called Bespoke Build which allows for a bevy of customization.
Trims And Prices
The 2022 Lexus LC comes in one main configuration and four sub-trims. All but the hybrid LC 500h hybrid come with a 5.0-liter V8 and a ten-speed automatic transmission that feeds the rear wheels. There’s a convertible version that uses the same V8 and both the coupe and drop-top can be had with a special appearance package called the Inspiration Series. It adds an active rear spoiler, rear steering, an Alcantara headliner, and more as standard features. Those who want the hybrid version will have to settle for a hardtop and add features on top of the base configuration.

- 500 $94,225
- Inspiration Series $105,575
- Convertible Inspiration Series $116,655

Engines And Transmissions
The main motor of the LC 500 is a 5.0-liter V8 that makes 471 hp and 381 lb-ft of torque. A ten-speed automatic then feeds the rear wheels only. It’s a lovely motor that sounds better as you rev it higher and higher.
The other option is a 3.6-liter V6 mated to two motor generators and a lithium-ion battery pack. Combined power is rated at 354 ponies. It sends that power to the back through both a continuously variable transmission and a traditional four-speed automatic. That results in what Lexus says feels like ten real cogs.

Fuel Economy Ratings
You’re not buying the Lexus LC with an eye on what it costs to fill up.
Even though, it’s worth noting that the EPA is estimating the fuel economy. It’s 16 miles per gallon in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. And that’s an overall 19 mpg combining the two.

Looking At The Outside 2022 Lexus LC
The 2022 Lexus LC is simply beautiful. It’s sporty, athletic, classy, and more. All at the same time.
It’s lower to the ground, with seat bolsters. So it’s quite different than getting in and out of a Lexus ES or LS sedan for sure. But the power, performance and outward aesthetics are definitely worth it.

Looking Inside 2022 Lexus LC
The LC might not be a ‘supercar’ or even a ‘high-end sports car’ fast but once you’re in the cabin it’s unlikely that you’ll care.
The fit and finish throughout are outstanding. Visibility is likewise impressive. It’s a comfortable and luxurious place to spend time and will allow owners to soak up mile after mile on the highway while they know that there’s nearly 500 hp on tap whenever they might want to release those ponies.

Infotainment And Connectivity
Despite featuring some of the most progressive stylings on the market, Lexus has imbued the LC with some of the oldest technology in the family. The touchpad navigation system is just archaic and disappointingly slow. Thankfully, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are both standard and ease some of the pain points present in the main system.

Safety And Driver-Assistance
Every single Lexus LC gets an outstanding suite of driver assistance aids. It includes adaptive cruise control, parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and forward collision mitigation. Those who even more can add lane-departure warning and lane-keep assist too. At the time of this writing, neither the NHTSA nor the IIHS has given the LC a safety rating.
Warranty And Maintenance Coverage
Lexus leads many of its competitors with an excellent warranty package. It includes four years or 50,000 miles of bumper-to-bumper coverage, six years, or 70,000 miles of powertrain coverage, and a year or 10,000 miles of complimentary maintenance. Hybrid components are also covered for eight years or 100,000 miles.
