Subaru is going for the dark and brooding look with the 2022 Subaru Ascent Onyx Edition release. The company’s largest crossover will now be available with an all-black exterior mimicking similar treatments from Toyota and Nissan. In addition, Subaru announced the existing Ascent lineup would carry over for the 2022 model year without any price increase.

This figure includes more than 10,000 Ascent models not be sold with the shutdown of Subaru’s Indiana plant.

With the inclusion of the Onyx Edition, the 2022 Subaru Ascent will now feature five different trims. Plus, the Onyx will slot in above the entry-level Base and Premium offerings. At the same time, the upscale Limited and Touring models will price above the Ascent in Onyx trim.
