Read MoreThe future of transportation has excited every generation. That goes all the way back to the first motor (or steam) driven vehicles (bikes).
And our generation isn't much different. But it seems we're on the razor's edge of massive technological breakthroughs. And those breakthroughs seem poised to exponentially change how we get around.
We already have electric vehicles, electric bikes and scooters. Plus electric trucks and electric commercial aircraft are deep in development.
The Society of Automotive Engineers has developed the Levels of Autonomous Driving. And, the brightest minds are hard at work getting close to having vehicles that cover them all. All the way to fully autonomous. Yeah, sit in the back seat.
But all that only scratches the surface. Let's not forget about the Boring Company, the Hyperloop concept, commercial space travel, going back to the moon and even Mars! Whoa!
The Future of Transportation is really at a tipping point. I don't know about you but I'm on the edge of my seat for what comes next!

Tom Smith here, owner of iDriveSoCal.
I love cars but hate the old school buying process.
So, I created iDriveSoCal to help out fellow wary car buyers. :0)
You and I learn insider information on how the car business really works from transparent car dealers willing to share.
And, mention me and iDriveSoCal to any of our dealer partners and enjoy serious VIP treatment and buying benefits! ;0)
Beyond car buying, I also share easy to understand vehicle reviews without too much technical jargon.
Plus, I cover automotive events and museums while tracking what’s real and hype in the future of transportation.
Email questions and thoughts – I love connecting.
Drive on!
