Every year, brand new trucks sell hand over fist regardless of the brand or the type.

And ass the world transitions to electrified vehicles, there’s been a resistance towards seeing trucks head in that same direction.

So, Rivian has proven that EV trucks can be great.  Though and now Chevrolet is in hot pursuit with its first all-electric Silverado.

And the Chevy Silverado Electric Vehicle is slated to arrive in dealerships sometime in late 2023 as a 2024 model year.

So, let’s take a deep dive into everything that we can look forward to in this electrified pickup.

The Chevy Silverado Electric Vehicle Is Unique

The Chevy Silverado Electric Vehicle will be the very first from one of the big three to be completely designed from the ground up with electrification in mind. The Ford F-150 Lightning will likely beat the Silverado EV to market by some margin but it’s on a standard F-150 platform. That comes with some big compromises that the Silverado EV won’t have to make.

For one, the Silverado EV uses General Motors’ unique Ultium platform. It’s the same one that underpins the Hummer EV, the Cadillac Lyriq, and the upcoming Chevy Equinox. Ultium’s modularity allows Chevy to build the new Silverado EV with the same truck toughness that customers are accustomed to while offering maximum range and outstanding road manners according to the company. That’s a rare combination. And again, it’s worth noting that it’ll be the first for one of the big three.

A Featureful Lineup Of Pickups

Chevrolet says that sometime in spring of 2023 we’ll get a look at the WT version of the Silverado EV. Then, later that same year we’ll see the fully-loaded RST version. Every trim level will be capable of DC fast charging of up to 350kW. Chevy estimates that the truck can add about 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes of charging. The pickup is also full of technology.

A PowerBase that provides 10.2kW of portable power will be available with the Silverado EV. Chevy also says that owners will have access to Ultium Charge 360 which provides a comprehensive set of charging solutions in the US and Canada. We’re also excited about all of the storage inside of the new Chevy Silverado Electric Vehicle. It includes both a front eTrunk with weatherproof storage as well as up to 7-gallons worth of capacity in a modular console. Customers can reserve their all-new Silverado EV right now.
