Adding excitement to the carmaker’s growing stable of EVs. Chevrolet’s first electric pickup truck is on display.
We caught the Silverado EV at the Los Angeles Auto Show. And we were there during the show’s press event. But even so, crowds were gathering around the electrified pickup truck.

The electric Silverado was drawing so much interest that it was tough to get a picture with only the truck!
But getting up close and personal with the electric Silverado is proof. That the EV pickup is every bit as impressive as available news suggests.

And here are some of those impressive numbers.
Up to 400 miles of range on a single charge. Plus 754 horsepower with 785 pound-feet of torque.
Wondering if it’s quick? Chevy’s saying the electric Silverado clocks in at 4.5 seconds from 0 to 60 mph.
How functional is the electric Silverado? It can tow up to 10,000 lbs. And that’s with 1,300 of payload.
Post initial launch Chevy’s planning a fleet model electric Silverado. And its towing capability jumps to 20,000 lbs.

What’s Electric Silverado Going To Cost?
Chevrolet reps are indicating a very reasonable starting price.
MSRP for an electric Silverado will start in the $40k range.  That’s the entry-level trim, WT. Also known as Work Truck.
Then, a loaded Silverado EV will be coming in north of $100k. And in this case, the loaded version will be the RST trim.

Unpacking Silverado’s Numbers
So from starting price to a loaded electric Silverado might seem like quite a swing.
Yet, that range makes sense. Because think of the current fuel-combustion Silverado pickup trucks. And the electric versions are on par.
But you also have to factor in the performance and range. Remember, 400 miles per charge and 754 horses with 785 lb-ft of torque. Those digits are for the top trim, RST.
Also the towing and payload numbers. Those represent the RST trim as well.

Electrifying Silverado Features
The First Edition RST offers some cool technology features.
Four-wheel steering and automatic adaptive air suspension. Plus Chevy’s multi-flex tailgate.
Also a ginormous 17-inch infotainment touchscreen. That’s in combo with an 11″ customizable in-dash digital display.
Then, topping off the digital suite is a multi-color head-up display. With a 14″ field of view.

GM’s Super Cruise Driver Assistance
Plus, General Motor’s Super Cruise is available.
That allows drivers true hands-free driver-assist tech. Chevy refers to this technology as an industry first.
For electric Silverado, it’s even available with trailering. Super Cruise is compatible with certain roads.
And those roads run throughout the United States and Canada. To date, there are more than 200,000 miles of Super Cruise-compatible highways.

When will the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV be available?
That’s somewhat of a moving target.  But Chevrolet dealers are taking reservations for electric Silverados right now.
