Duane: I like the technology items that are on the car. Something that we haven’t had in any other vehicle is going to be the ability to link our phone to the dashboard screen.

We do a lot of driving, so it’s going to be nice to be able to cast our books onto the car, listen to those.

Tom: Welcome to iDriveSoCal, the podcast all about mobility, from the automotive capital of the United States, Southern California.

Tom Smith here, at Rock Honda, the Los Angeles suburb of Fontana, California, where Rock Honda is. I am with Duane from Rancho Cucamonga, who just became a new Rock Honda customer.

Duane: Right. First time.

Tom: Duane, thanks for joining us, and thanks for becoming a Rock Honda customer. What did you get today?

Duane: We bought a Honda Pilot.

Tom: Excellent. What trim level did you get do you know?

Duane: The EXL.

Tom: EXL. Excellent. What color, what features, what attracted you to the vehicle?

Duane: Well it was actually something my wife saw someplace. This car is for her. It’s the Lunar Silver.

Tom: Okay.

Honda Technology Review

Duane: I like the technology items that are on the car.

The car that she had was a number of years old didn’t have that feature, so we’re looking forward to having that. I think the best thing I like about it is that she decided to go with the leather.

We’ve never had a car with leather, so I’m really looking forward to that.

Tom: Awesome. The tech features Honda cars and trucks, Honda vehicles overall are loaded with tech. What specific technology that your vehicle has that attracted you to it?

Duane: I think something that we haven’t had in any other vehicle is going to be the ability to link our phone to the dashboard screen.

Tom: Yep.

Duane: Visually.

Tom: Yep.

Duane: To do the navigation. We’re used to using our phone for navigation wherever we go traveling. So, it’s going to be nice to be able to see it right on your dash.

Tom: That’s an awesome feature, isn’t it? The Apple Car Player, and Android Auto.

Duane: Android.

Tom: I’m Android as well. My wife’s Apple.

Duane: I have an Apple for work, and then I’m always confused when I have to use it for work. I like Android better.

Rock Honda Customer Vehicle Review

Tom: I understand. One of the things that we do on the iDriveSoCal podcast we have kind of professional reviewers but we also it seems like you’re very comfortable with talking on the mic and what not. Obviously you know the vehicle that you just got.

So, one of the things that we do is the top three. I don’t want to put you on the spot, but if you can identify the top three things that you like about your new vehicle, love to talk about them.

Duane: Well, I think that the thing I like about it the most, is that my wife picked it out and it’s what she wanted, and she got what she wanted. That’s what I’m happy with.

Tom: Happy wife, happy life.

Duane: That’s true. I’ve never bought a Honda before.

Everyone here has been great. Everyone’s been awesome. I couldn’t say enough about the way we’ve been treated been really good. Again, we’re looking forward to the technology that’s in the car. It’s going to be nice.

We do lot of driving, so it’s going to be nice to be able to cast our books onto the car listen to those. Again, I’m really looking forward to the leather seats going to be a new experience.
