Who They Are

Founded in 1953 by a group of high school friends, Undertakers Car Club has grown into one of Southern California’s longstanding custom car clubs while staying true to the camaraderie that inspired its formation. Based in Perris, California, the club welcomes enthusiasts with an appreciation for modified and custom-built vehicles from virtually any era, although vintage and classic models remain at the heart of its identity.

More than seven decades after its founding, Undertakers Car Club continues to represent the enduring appeal of Southern California’s custom car culture. Its members share an interest in craftsmanship, individuality, and the stories behind every build, creating an environment where restored classics, period customs, hot rods, and other modified vehicles can be appreciated alongside one another. That broad approach has helped the club remain relevant as automotive trends have evolved through the years.

What They Do

While the club’s activities have changed over time, its primary focus during the past decade has been organizing car shows that bring together enthusiasts from across the region. Its annual car show has become a well-known gathering within the local automotive community, regularly attracting between 300 and 400 vehicles that showcase a wide variety of custom, classic, and modified builds.

In addition to its signature event, Undertakers Car Club hosts a monthly evening car show at Clearman’s Galley “The Boat” in San Gabriel. Held on the third Wednesday of each month during daylight saving time, these gatherings typically draw 40 to 50 vehicles and provide owners with an opportunity to display their cars, reconnect with fellow enthusiasts, and enjoy Southern California’s active car culture in a relaxed setting.

For 2026, the club’s annual show is scheduled for Saturday, August 8, from noon to 4:00 p.m. at Clearman’s Galley “The Boat,” continuing a tradition that has become one of the club’s defining events.
