Rock Around the Block is cruising back into Downtown Torrance with another evening that celebrates classic cars, hometown history, and the unmistakable spirit of the 1950s.
This is more than a traditional car show. For one evening, Post Avenue turns into a slice of mid-century America, where vintage cars line the street alongside rock 'n' roll music, period fashion, and family-friendly activities that capture the era's charm. Classic cars naturally take center stage, but they share the spotlight with contests, live entertainment, museum exhibits, and plenty of opportunities to slow down and enjoy the atmosphere. Rather than feeling like a walk through rows of parked vehicles, this event invites visitors to experience the sights, sounds, and personality of the decade that inspired it.
Organized by the Torrance Historical Society & Museum, the annual event celebrates Torrance's 1956 All-America City Award, one of the nation's oldest and most respected community recognitions.
