Wrightwood Mountain Classic Car Show is rolling back into the San Gabriel Mountains!

Getting there is part of the experience. Highway 2 has long been a favorite route for weekend drives, and it is easy to imagine vintage cars, hot rods, and classic trucks winding their way into town before filling the streets of Wrightwood. The show is reserved for pre-1975 American-made vehicles, giving the lineup a clear identity. Expect everything from chrome-covered cruisers and muscle cars to custom hot rods and old pickups, each bringing its own piece of American automotive history to the mountains.

Organized by the Wrightwood Chamber of Commerce, the event has become one of those traditions that fits its surroundings. Rather than trying to be the biggest show on the calendar, it embraces the character of the town itself. Free admission for spectators makes it easy for locals, visitors, and weekend travelers to spend time walking the streets, talking with owners, and enjoying the slower pace that naturally comes with a mountain community.

Set in Wrightwood in San Bernardino County, the show takes over the downtown village, where classic American cars become part of the scenery instead of competing with it. Chances are you'll spend as much time admiring the backdrop as the vehicles themselves. That combination gives the event a personality all its own and makes it feel different from the typical Southern California cruise night or park show.

Some car shows are worth the drive because of the number of vehicles waiting at the end. Others are worth it because the journey is part of the story.
